What would cause the ammonia to jump like that ? Could it have been feed in them around an hour before testing

yes, a big feeding can spike ammonia readings , sometimes they go back down quickly

Thank everyone

Guys I dont know if these are additional nicks or scrapes but there is another mark on his fin and two on his body. I notice 1 mark on his body yesterday and another today. Been doing large wc every other day should I treat with pimafix or something....I wanna nip this in the bud if indeed it is something that has to bee treated.

yes , he looks healthy , but those look like "nicks",pima fix should help (or melafix ) ... reg dose first day then 1/2 doses for two -four days , is the way I treat minor injuries .... keep up on the wc's (they are more important)..don't worry about the instructions on the bottle for minor injuries , imo , waiting a week to do a water change for a scrape or nick will cause more damage due to higher nitrates + meds in tank equalling stress

Thanks bro I hate using meds man....been doing 75% wc everyday/every other day gonna see how it looks tomorrow
