1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of salt can help fish who have damaged fins or scales,This small amount will help the fish maintain the salt level in its blood(osmoregulation).Once the fish has healed i recomend doing frequent water changes as salt does not evaporate.

I'm new to this, just had my first RTG Arowana last Saturday and today it dropped 2 of his scale, any idea why? It was in its tank all the while
