wow Checked my tanks PH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
p.s. you need a lot of driftwood, or a very tannin rich driftwood, to change the pH. Aging water before adding to the tank, with being filtered through peat moss or crushed coral will lower or raise (respectively) the pH. This should all be done before the water is added to the tank and prepared the EXACT same way every time. Otherwise, you risk stressing the fish.

This is the safest method and "adding driftwood or crushed coral to you tank" isn't going to help very much (if it does anything at all)

What Cass said. Plus, pH itself is not very important to most fish, even those considered "low pH" or "high pH" species; the more important measure is TDS (total dissolved solids), which is often but not always correlated with pH. That's why I asked about GH and KH. They help give an idea of TDS.

Really, though, you shouldn't worry about your pH. It's fine where it is, and you're likely to do more harm than good trying to change it.

7.6 isnt that bad, also ask questions or read up on what things do before just adding something to your tank.

Well ty very much for all the info is stable a 7.6 all the time there are big pieces of drift wood in the tank it didnt seem to lower it at all its all ways the same 7.6 to 7.7
never higher.
