WOW just measured my RTC

Middle of the page gives rough estimates for Channel catfish weights. A channel would need to be roughly 27" to hit 9 pounds.

But a channel cat is not in the same class as a rtc! channels aren't nearly as wide as rtcs.

Eleven inches is more than enough difference in length to discount for the presumed bulkiness of the RTC. Having hooked a few good lunkers in my time, I'd have to concur that a 16" fish could not possibly weigh nine pounds.

Just use it as an educational tool. You can probably find the same thing for Flatheads, which might approach the body mass of a RTC a little better. You are off on your measurments by a substantial amount. I would hate to hear what kind of measurements you'll give your girlfriend when you're 18.

They grow super fast. I've had mine 10 months and it's pushing 24". I Bought it Feb 10, 2006 at 2"
