Wow, never imagine such nonsense

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We have a friend whose daughter is apparently a very successful and popular "influencer". She is a very pretty, personable and vivacious girl...who has, unfortunately, the attention span of a fruitfly and the intellect of a potato. Her mother always worried how she would make her way in the world.

Now we know! Stupidity is apparently a profession!

iirc somebody died from consuming aquarium products to prevent/cure covid. Be careful about the media you consume.

I was going to mention that. What really hurts is that that was a really good treatment option for marine diseases (it was either brook or velvet), and you can’t get it anymore because one person decided to do something idiotic.

I remember that; pretty sure it is quinine hydrochloride. Back when I first started into marine aquariums, it was a common and effective treatment for some simple parasitic fish diseases. If I recall correctly, it was also sold as a treatment for head lice! Buying it at the drug store could get you some weird looks...:)

But, once again, our rulers have decided that we must gear our "safety" precautions to the lowest common denominator of human stupidity. :(

You want stupid?

Here are the 10 states with the highest gun deaths per capita:

  • Alaska (24.5 per 100k people)
  • Alabama (22.9 per 100k people)
  • Montana (22.5 per 100k people)
  • Louisiana (21.7 per 100k people)
  • Mississippi (21.5 per 100k people)
  • Missouri (21.5 per 100k people)
  • Arkansas (20.3 per 100k people)
  • Wyoming (18.8 per 100k people)
“The states with the lowest gun deaths per capita are Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Rhode Island, all of which have fewer than five gun deaths per 100,000 people. These states also have the lowest gun ownership in the United States. Massachusetts and New Jersey have the lowest gun ownership rate of 14.7%, followed by Rhode Island with 14.8%, Hawaii with 14.9%, and New York with 19.9%. These five states are the only state to have gun ownership rates below 20%.”

This is from a news article I just read.

“People in Alabama will not be required to obtain a permit or undergo a background check to carry a concealed weapon beginning next year.

Republican Gov. Kay Ivey signed Thursday legislation into law that removes the requirement for concealed carry permit -- making Alabama the 22nd state to adopt that policy.

The law, which goes into effect on January 1, essentially allows people to have a gun in their jacket, purse or car without having a permit. The state does not currently require a permit to openly carry a weapon nor background checks for gun purchase.”

I guess Alabama is gunning to be Number 1.

I'd LIKE to just say "natural selection at it's finest" and let the idiots carry on, but **** like this is the reason why the equally stupid Canadian government has banned almost EVERY fish medication in existence. They've been whittling away at the meds available over the last decade or so due to stupid asshats who decide to self-medicate with fish medicines you can get over the counter. A few months ago they finally banned the last useful medications we had - any of the Seachem products like Metroplex, Neoplex, etc. Aquarium salt and Melafix is about all we have access to now and it makes me livid.
