Wow.. New past time in VA..

Well apparently the cool thing to do now is catch gar here. Normally I do not have a problem with this because I am an angler. However, people here are catching rather large gar, duct taping their mouth close, and releasing. They are trying to save "bass" WTF are these people thinking???

wow, that has to be one of the worst treatments of gars that i've heard of yet. that seriously ticks me off, and the people doing this and thinking it will help bass are complete morons...we sometimes call them dumBASSes.

seriously considering going through the DNR contacts to alert conservation officers, etc out there to hopefully stop that crap.

I hate to say it, no one cares about gar here. Except bow fisherman, who just bow, and release. Sometimes a gar a survive a arrow piercing it. I hate how bad gar are treated here.

Take pictures or a video with your cellphone and try your best to bring justice to these people. I assure you that there are feds in VA who care about gars and other wildlife, or at least their job is to pretend to.

gars are in worse state than bass are... you can find bass anywhere

It is animal cruelty. Get video of some type and turn them in. If they are marines they deserve to be turned in even more as they should be held at a higher standard they have sworn to protect this country and all its inhabitants that includes the wildlife that makes this country what it is. Before some of you attack me for this I would also note I am a Vet.
