Did the one you plan to have by the end of last month not pan out?

If I did not have a job I would be out there every day 8-5 pounding the pavement, putting in apps, doing interviews.

yeah, drink some mountain dew and just start charging on places and making yourself the only prospect.

Do they not have temp agencies where your from? Learn a skill or something - I couldn't imagine not being able to find a job. And weekends probably aren't the best time to be putting in applications. When you hand a written app in it should be to the hiring manager if at all possible.
