I'm in the same boat. I recently read an article about foods that increase your chance of stroke, and my ENTIRE diet from the day I was born was on there. It was a real eye opener and I've decided to try and change my diet, but it is NOT easy, I've already had two "farewell pastramis" since reading the article two weeks ago :(

my wife recently bought a pack of pastrami from the grocery store. you get like 4-5 sandwiches worth out of the pack and it costs only $6. i finished the last bit of it last week. that will be my last pastrami sandwich for a while.

it's hard for me too as i love food that is bad for you. and i hate a lot of food that is good for you. but again, just sick of looking at myself and feeling unhealthy.

i'm gonna take a picture of myself tonight and keep it. by next summer i'll take another picture and post the before and after. i want to lose weight slowly because i don't want a lot of loose skin. i seen people lose weight too fast and there's too much access skin

I worked for Wendy's. Great employer, and great with customer service. The food is poisoned with trans fats and preservatives, but they don't pretend to be health food. I still might grab a junior bacon cheeseburger w/ no mayo (soybean oil!) once a year for old times' sake.

Props to a fast food company that doesn't pretend. I mean, McDonald's actually made a few commercials where they tried to make their product look like food. Why is Ronald McDonald still skinny? Blatant lies turn people away. But Wendy's? Look at Dave. Fat, died early, you know what you're getting into when you eat there.

I don't need to lose weight, I am always interested in increasing health and fitness. As a result, I am considering trying a raw food diet for a while. I know someone who is in awesome shape, winning competitions and he's a raw food vegan. I second the hard part about giving up habits and comfort foods, even if my comfort foods may differ from yours.

I cant wait for the coupons to come, I am so going to try to get a double triple extra cheese triple bacon!! having surgery # 4 this year next week so I need to get my strength up!!...hahahaha:headbang2:ROFL::ROFL:

I WISH I could be a raw vegan (one of my friends is), but I don't think I have discipline and definitely not the money. How can you get cheaper than $2 for a full meal at Taco Bell that makes me stuffed? I would definitely have to make an exception for elk meat that I kill myself, though.

I wouldn't even have to kill it myself, elk is my favorite red meat. Just reading your post made me hungry. Beef, and/or pork, I could give up. Even venison, but not elk or moose.
