I like Oscars personality but they are ugly.

Green Terrors or Severums.
 
Veil tail Oscars, they are like a giant betta, big huge pretty fins with googely oscar eyes and loads of personality!
 
Green terror, i want to give a nice long explanation why.

They get a decent size, not huge, not puny and a pushover.

They are smart, they have the personality of lets say an oscar but they never get that "old" look, they just get 8" and kick ass their entire life.

There colors are magnicent, they are so shocking with the orange tinge on the tale and all the colors.

They can open a mean can of whoop-ass, they are so aggressive so their name fits them well.

They dont need a huge tank like lets say dovii's or Odos, they are totally happy and healthy in a 55g without be uncomfortable.

They do present a challenge, with picky diets and terrible temperaments. I like being able to fuss with stuff and have to screw around with the equipment.

So yea
 
Fish: Midas
Reason: Theyre just a fun interactive fish.
Not to mention all the different selections of colors to choose from.
Takes a special person to own these and maybe a little sense of humor.
But you probably won't ever come across a tightwad dickhead that keeps these.
