Writing a paper on P. Natteri

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was spelling it wrong the whole time?! *slaps forehead*

Thanks so much Oddball for correcting my error!! Hopefully I'll find much more info now!! ^^

you should research growth rates controlling for temp, blackwater conditions, and size of tank. My goal for my piranhas is to have a 1000 gallon with a shoal of about 80 geryis.

I think I'm going to put Aquarium information towards the end of the paper...

Although, I could base it on keeping Pygos in captivity, and touch base on wild habits, ranges, and etc.

What do you guys think?

(BTW, that tank would be awesome drewmprs)

Another Idea : Pics of skeleton and dissection of a natt .
Enplane how they move there jaw sOOOOO Fast I wonder do you .

And as for the jaw moving fast , To elaborate ... They chew/chomp
their jaw very fast it looks/sounds like 10 times per second they chomp .
Like SnapSnapSnapSnapSnaSnap .
If I give my Piranha live foods I can actual here with my naked ear
their teeth chomping like fast sizers :D

EEWW!! LOL

That would creep me out! lol

I NEED to get my friggen cons breeding so I can have feeders to enrich my piranhas minds with....even though I don't really like feeders that much, watching my RBP (and my fiance's as well) hunting pellets isn't that educational for them.

If you pm me your email, I could send you "Environment-related life-history trait variations of the red-bellied piranha Pygocentrus nattereri in two river basins of the Bolivian Amazon"

It's a bit sciency- I'm not sure how in depth info you want but it has chapters on information on sex ratio, breeding seasons, size and age at maturity, fecundity and oocyte size, age and growth amongst others. It sounds like a pretty comprehensive study (although from only 2 river basins)- might be useful?

PM sent!! ^^

I could always use more information!! ^^

I used to thumb through the encyclopedias and read the articles as a kid.....I know, nerdy, huh? ^_~

Anybody know where I can get a good diagram of anatomy?

Try watching National Geagraphic or animal planet, those channels will tel you a hell of a lot

Actually even the discovery channel is good, you can even try to get their magazinesor go to their websites.
