man I had bad luck with crush coral for my tank.....too much salt in them my fish started to have cloudy eyes and other fish had ammonia burns....

It could go both ways. My aros had cloudy eyes from those stuff n i do weekly water change and have strong filtration..... but my flowerhorn was fine with the crush coral

I used regular dirt and it floated to the top and clogged my filter!
