I'm looking for a heater for my 100g tank.. i guess the heater in my tank has been broken, the tank has been warm for a long long time and today i moved my bass down there and put my thermometer in there to check and its stuck at 90 degrees!!

So I'm lookin for a heater TONIGHT.. if i dont find one then im going to buy one tomorrow.

I'm willing to drive up to 10 miles away from westminster 714.

i don't think you will need a 300 watt for your 100g tank. May be 200 watts will do the job and also depend on the brand. Are you sure it is not set at 90 degrees ? i live close to you and today is hot like hell, about 86F i think.

its night time.. i checked the heater and put it on the lowest and its still at 90.. the tank in my room is still at 80 and my room is upstairs and hotter then downstairs so i assume its the heater. i google'd heater size for aquarium and it says to use 2 300w heaters.. but im just going to go with one.

Might I suggest doing 2 200 watt heaters in case problems like this happen again, so you can sustain the tank while you wait to get a new one?

Check out Marinedepot.com, they're off the 57 and Katella and allow local pickup. Could probably find a good reliable heater cheaper there.

sweeet!! thanks!

yeah, i also think you need 2 200watt. 1 for use and 1 for back up if anything happen. let me go through my stuff if i can find you any 300watt heater.

If you're trying to figure out which brands are best, look at the review section on www.cichlid-forum.com

Those Hagen Tronic heaters are reasonably priced and have had a good track record with me.

Eheim/Ebo-Jager used to be good, but ever since they switched owners I've heard bad complaints about them giving out after a year.

EDIT: I would just put both 200W heaters in the tank at the same time, in case one gives out while you're not around. It will also help save on your electricity bill a bit, as they'll heat up the water a lot faster. Just be sure to buy two of the same heaters so that you can set them at the same temperature without having a discrepency in their thermostats.

i also agree with you. i have 1 of them for over 2 years already and still running good. Hey bro, i have a 300watts heater from hydor (may be spell it wrong), if you really need it i can let you borrow it. I don't want to sell to you because i don't know how much should i sell it to you. i live very close to your area, Santa Ana. Pm me if you need it.
