West up E... its E:ROFL:

Looks like the 60gl took its practice and your ready to jump into the project:D

Cant wait to see how it comes out.
One thing I noticed is if that is the actual stand, how are you ganna get the tank in there??? To many doors with not enough space to move the tank around (based on the pic)??

BUMP for you:headbang2

I think he's going to build part of it and put the sump inside then finish the stand since he's the one that's going to build it.

Hope he buys my tank. :D

I might have a 60g glass for you soon big dog.

My offer is still good.

Hi Taun,

I'm most likely going to go with your tank. I do have a question for you.

Being that it is an acrylic tank, how much of a bulge does it have? I'm sure there is some when there is water in it, but my interest is about when it is dry. In order to bond acrylic, it needs to be a really flat surface because the solvent has water-like consistency. The solvent flows between the two pieces by capillary action, and if there is a gap, it will not bond evenly. If the tank is currently dry, would you mind taking a look at it with a straight edge to see if the middle is bulged out? I think a little bulge shouldn't be too big a deal if I might be able to correct it while I am doing the bonding.

Thanks,

Eric

Hey Eric, good to hear from you! How is everyone in your 300 doing? Tuan is correct about getting the sump in. The final 2 2x4s will be installed after the sump is under the stand. In order to get the sump in, it will go in at an angle and the front corner will actually poke out the front through a door opening. Then I can angle it in and put in the back supports. Google has a program called "sketchup" which is essentially a free CAD (Computer aided drafting) that I used to create the drawings that I posted earlier. I was also able to test the fit of the sump with that program too. It's a really great program, and I would recommend it to anyone who is doing their own design work, or doing remodeling. The model that I posted pictures of was built piece by piece so I know exactly what lumber I need to buy and what cuts I need to make.

Yes, you are correct. I wrote a little more about it up above. Let me know about how much bulge the acrylic tank has. Or, if you are reasonably close by, I can just come over and take a look. I'll send you a pm.

Thanks,

Eric
