Me: I have search around and that red/gold Arowana are not legal in USA.

Seller: It illegal in some states but your state is OK.

read the sticky threads in arowana forum. You are best beat to go with a silver, black, or a jardini. What size tank to you have cycled?

THAT IS A SCAM! Asian arowanas are illegal in the US but i think that u can get a permit for one.

I picked up a Australian arowana (Jardini) for about 50 bucks that is 4 inches. It was in china town. Lolz! but ya asians are illegal, blue is really hard for me to find where i am, and silvers are the most common. WARNING - If you wish to mix the breeds in the same tank you will need a bunch of more silver or blue ones then the Jardini as they are more aggressive.

Thought incorrectly. There are no permits for private collectors. Only for institutions performing bonafide research.

lol no asian aro is legal in the us only legal aro in the us are silver,black,african,b.jar or b.lei. some people scam ppl by dying/tanning their aros and selling em as asian aros... just like some ppl make a regular silver look like plat. silver and sell it for 10x the amount for a actual silver... & as oddball stated u can not get a permit if u r a private collector...
