you don't need a chiller...go to walmart and get a fan....put the fan right next to the tank and of you go. very cheap and easy. lol hahahha

LOL Just make sure the fan is HUGE !!! Kinda like blowing on a hot bowl of soup ... and we all know how effective that is. :screwy:

I tried that, but the room temp is close to 90 degrees so the fan is just blowing hot air. Putting an A/C in the room would be ok but I don't want to leave it on 24/7, especially if I go away for a few days. The way I see it, the chiller might only turn on for a few minutes at a time because it's rated for tanks three times the size of the one I would be using it for. So it will use less electricity than an A/C that's always running. Plus, the price is so good, I can resell it someday without taking a loss. But let me know if I missing something here.

Yeah Tom, I was being sarcastic.:D I've tried fans before but they don't work IMO unless your ambient room temperature is low enough to make a difference. I have SW tanks too and there's no way you could get by without a chiller in this heat. Just my two cents. ;)

Hotfishgirls, you have a open invitation to my place to blow on my tanks anytime ! :naughty: LOL

I may have found the solution: duct tape the icemaker switch from my fridge to stay on permanently and build a slide so the ice falls into my sump!
