I have always wanted a rtc but they get huge so now I am growing my sun cats out so they get big cause thats as close as I am gonna get to an rtc.
 
These were the most recent pics that I had. I ended up selling them as they were in with my Dovii and they were getting beat up. I'd say in these pics they were 5.5", nowhere near as chunky as when I sold them.



 
Hey guys I saw this thread with my sun cat in it. I just did a water change yesterday and noticed he's put on some weight lately. He was about 1 1/2" when I got him 10 years ago. I didn't see him for what seemed like years and may have been, then I saw him and he was about 6". He is nocturnal and will eat anything that fits in his mouth except tank mates. He is every bit of 15" at this age and keeps getting bigger.
 
Sweet. My biggest is just at 12.5" now. They are 5 years old or so. They were severely stunted. When I got divorced they were the survivors of my ex attack on my fish. A friend kept them for about 1.5 years for me. When I left they were 3" each at .5 years after buying them at 1". They only grew to 3.5" by the time I got them back 1.5 years later. In the 3 years I have had them back they have grown from 3.5" to 11.5" and 12.5". No adverse side effects from the stunting that I can see at this point and seem to be thriving now. They do fight quit a bit though. They also fight often with my flathead.
