WTB Good scavenger

Looking for a good fish to keep the gravel clean of waste and access food. Any help or recommendations? Im located in So Cal

Large clown loaches are good. Expensive though if you try to get them big.

Bichirs are poo machines. Try a school of corys, they work for me.

hoplo cats do very well too. i have 2 of thoes and 3 clown loaches and my tank bottom is supper clean.

I have a predatory tank though so will those be eaten?

Depends how large/aggressive their tankmates will be. Crydoras, shrimp, snails, etc are great cleaners.

edit- Since you have large/aggressive fish buy a larger pleco....

But dont plecos create more waste then other cleaners. I have peacock bass, and perch, and so forth.

Bichirs are lazy and do not clean. They're one of the most lazy fish I've seen and owned. Stick with bottom dwellers if you want cleaners. I like fish from the loaches family as cleaners.
