Good luck with those. I am a catfish man through and through, and if there weren't so many different catfish to be had I would probably be doing what you are. lol, maybe someday I will be rich enough to do both.

My LFS has a big ol RTC if you want it haha. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you Cliff.

as far as I know white catfish are freshwater. I used to catch them in FL in the run off ditches. as far as flathead I never find small ones, Probably cause they dont stay small long. there is also a fish farm that has a blue/channel hybrid

I read up on the white catfish. It is freshwater, but is very tolerent of high salinity. They can go brackish in some waters, but are mainly freshwater. As for the hybrid I'd love to get one, but I've emailed many fish farms about getting some and they never reply back.

Brachyplatystoma platynemum -This fish is classified as ''Endangered'' and the capture of specimens smaller than 62 cm is illegal. This means that the small specimens imported for the aquarium trade are illegally acquired.

I catch juvenile (1/2-2") white catfish in the summer. They are not native to Maine, but seem to prosper up here. They can tolerate brackish waters. I can get you some next year if you want to wait that long. We start seing in mid july. The catfish are still small at that time. By mid/late august they are getting bigger.

I caught 4 10" flatheads 7-8 years ago and stocked them (along with Channels and some bullheads) into my fathers 3 acre pond. They are monsters now. So small ones can be caught. But they have decimated the Bluegills and Sunfish though.
