If you want a ray captive bred is the way to go, and motoros aren't the hard to find captive bred.

I have 3 captive bred retics and they are the best rays I have ever owned, besides my captive bred motoro that I got from another member.

Here is a site with some captive bred motoro pups and he has a male and female for sale.
Pat is a cool guy and he actually bought my two motoros from me, and now they are in his breeding program.

Sorry, but $200 in not in my student budget! I have heard that motoros are easier to keep than retic? I had a retic before and really didn't think he was hard to keep. Have you gotten your retic to eat shrimp and stuff like that?

Haven't tried yet, they were born in the date in my sig and I haven't run out of blackworms yet.

When I bought my retic, the pet store sent me home with live blackworms and said to mix them with frozen. After the first day or so he ate only the frozen bloodworms. Sure made me happy. I had to sell him because I moved last year, but I would like to get another now. I am looking for a ray about 5 inches and that has a nice personality and will eat stuff from the market. That is what I hope to find.

you sure you can afford one on a student budget? just something to think about...

I have grown up my whole life with fish in the house. I wouldn't know how to live without them! I have money, as well as 5 month old angels to sell, so that is not the problem. The problem is getting ripped off, which would lead to not enough money to keep the ray healthy. I guess what I am trying to say is that I'm shopping around to find the best ray for my money. Not only that, but doing more research in looking at what each species lives off of. Some species accept some foods better than others.
