wait.... so jlnguyen? does lettin water "age" wit water conditioner, does that take cares of the pH? cuz i read those water conditioner bottom (by kordon) it says it stabilize pH, so if my tap is pH 9... wouldnt it make it stable at 9 o.O

The water "age" with conditioner just to remove chlorine and other chemical. For pH, you can buy the buffer powder. What advertised by the condition manufacturer means when you add the conditioner, it won't creat a drastically change in pH level, which can also kill your fish

corey u got pm...
interested in ur 99% water goes through filter thingy....

jlnguyen... ur method is temptin since its considerably cheaper that way, but then i'll have to heat up the water b4 i add to the tank .... thats not easy x.x

i guess i dont need a normal ro/di then, if it is rilly that unenvironmental friendly... 1/5 water gets filtered only...and 4/5 go to waste... ouch...

okay thanks guyz, i think im just gonna go wit jlnguyen's method for now...

tap water filter turns out to be initial filter cost+ weekly replacement of 21 bux... no very economic friendly...

and ro/di... cuz of water wasting...

If you do only 25%-35% w/c weekly, you don't need to heat up the water.. I don't know about your area, but mine, the water store in the trash can is about the same temp as the water in the tank during summer  (I don't use heaters during summer time here :grinno:) During winter, the tank temp only drop 5 degree after I add new water (1/3 or 33% w/c)

You can also throw a bag or two of active carbon in the new water to help with the chemical removal in the tap water. Just make sure to replace the carbon monthly
