I just got a 110 acrylic with some heavy scratching. The seller did about 1/3 of the tank but that killed the sandpaper, which is basically useless now. He gave me a discounted price but I have a ton of work to do and my shoulder is killing me. So if anyone out there has experience doing this, wants a bit of a workout, or has tools that make the job quick and easy, I'm happy to pay you fairly for your time.

The tank is 60x18x26 and sort of a hex (the back is the biggest side, the full 5 feet, and doesn't need any work) and the top 1/3 of 4 of the remaining 5 sides is done. What's left has several deep scratches inside in various places. And the exterior has a bunch too, but all very light and easy. It's the inside that's the real challenge.

Anyone want a job? I figured this was worth a shot... otherwise this thing is just going to end up sitting out on the deck for a few weeks and my fish will be sad.

bump, any area HS/college fish keepers on here looking for cash? I'll even give you a ride if you don't drive.

Heh, I feel so lazy posting this. But I've done two strongman contests in two weeks and my body is shot. Plus I've never done this before.

Find yourself a bodyshop and talk to their best finnish man. They might be able to buff it out for you.

Don't know how it is out in your area but out here if you head to the local Home Depot there's a bunch of illegal's outside waiting for work - they'll do just about anything for $20.

Yeah and you shouldn't give them anything but a ride to the INS department.

Don't support criminals!:irked:

I've had buddies actually load them up into the bed of their truck thinking they're going to get work and drive them to the INS Office...the things you do when you're bored.

haha i saw a video like that on youtube :P

That's cruel. They are in this country doing the jobs that none of us want to do for far cheaper than we would do it, and you wanna turn them in. THey are the building blocks of our economy....

It is cruel, but the only problem I have with that is, that money does not stay in this country.

Back to trying to find someone to buff this tank-

Heh, haven't seen any illegals outside HD, but I'm thinking that plan is no good just because I'd have to somehow teach them how to do it, and a) I'm not confident I know how anyway (the 1500-800 grit one at a time at 90 degree angles doesn't seem to be working, though it might just be that the sandpaper is shot) b) I don't speak spanish.

I'll probably just order another sandpaper kit, since by the time it got here I'd feel fine again, but I'd still rather get someone else to do it because it'll take a few hours at least. Plus I don't mind supporting someone else's fish habit at a fair price.
