wtb used r/o water unit

every tank should use ro water. if most people wont drink their tap water, what makes you think your fish want to live in it?

i think that's a bit of a mis conception... we live in the US and are pretty lucky to have decent to pretty good water. true it's not exactly going to be nectar of the Gods, but it's pretty much clean, has a few things like chlorine and what not inside, but if you think about it, if you're brushing your teeth using this water for the last 20-30 odd years and you're still kicking, chances are it isn't too bad
there's also no way you would not have got a taste of it at some point in time. think about the last time you had some water from a drinking fountain somewhere... hehe

i've kept my fish on nothing but tap water, from common things like convicts to hard to keep fish like F0 parrots all did great

having said that though, still need an R/O unit if i want a chance to breed discus!!!! bump to the top
