problem with monster is the do not feed their plecos, or ensure that they are fed. they usually keep them with other non pleco that eat the food and outcompete the plecos before they can even get at the food. and as you know plecos can live a while without food, and then their eyes sink, their bellies sink, and then they crash in a few days. ive been burnt on some expensive plecos from monster. the plecos are so starving they will attack your fish and eat their slime.

also the owner gave me some very bad advice on how to medicate fish, and i lost some plecos as well. i came there to buy indian almond leaved, and he sold me the idea of using furan for my fish, almost killed all my discus, and killed all the plecos. you would think that someone who has kept and seen a vast amount of fish would be very knowledgeable. i only trust other hobbyists who keep the same species as you for advice now.

overall, i am not thrilled with monster.
buy your plecos from a hobbyist, or seller that quarantines the fish, and actually has them eating.

You can check out Derek’s Fish at EuroPlecos.com. He has some L134 in stock. Collection point i believe was at Rio Tapajos. He also has some rarer L134 with spots collected from the rio jamanxim. He is located in Illinois and he does ship.

Thanks for the leads on the leopard frogs...I've been talking with Derek and will likely get some from him.

Also, this was never meant to be a sales thread for my zebras but I've had a bunch of inquiries so I figure I'll address it. I do have quite a few fry but I don't feel comfortable selling any due to their size...they are still too young. I posted some current pics and in the second pic, you can see them next to a habrosus cory catfish for a size comparison.

For all who asked, I've put you on a list and will let you know when they're ready.

whats the price for fry

As for monster you might be right. I had 6 zebras from another location all grew fast and well. Rest were from him they seemed to be thriving as well at the time. I can’t really say for certain what happened to my colony as I put in few small discus as dithers as well and that’s when I started to lost them. I used prazipro and saved 1. I blame self though for not quarantine all new fish. Other store that I get them in nj. Always has some there. discus madness. Check out there site say Steve from ny referred you

Hey V Vicious1 , sorry to hear about your loss. Typically, acclimation is the most critical part but once you get them eating and past quarantine, all plecos are extremely hardy...including zebras. If you lost them suddenly after raising them for some time, it was most likely from internal parasites. Plecos are bottom feeders and are notorious for having internal parasites and should be dewormed during quarantine.

For everyone else, I've gone ahead and made a list and will contact you once the fry are large enough. Again, this was not meant to be a sales thread. Looking for local hobbyists that have some L134 or L14 they want to sell or trade. Ordering online will be a last choice.
