Cerith snails lay egg "trails" just like that. Lucky you, you can never have enough Ceriths...

i have something like this but it's orange/red... i think it's some kind of slime mold or formaniferan... it seems benign and regrows fairly quickly when wiped away

a clearer pic would help though, does your camera have a macro setting?

Ok... the original spot is gone... eaten byb on of my larger snails... now a new one has appeared, up closer to the top by the lights.
