you forget one thing.............most places over seas dont have taxes.

gas prices over seas are more expensive actually i think, In england

they dont jack up gas prices down there on purpose....... all the offshore platforms , get destroyed and cant get oil less supply same demand higher cost

go complain to OPEC and all the terrorists and dictators we buy oil from... im sure they will listen to your thoughts

Petrol is around £1.11 a litre where I live in the UK, about $1.9 I think, meaning our petrol prices in the UK would be the equivalent of $7.9 (call it 8 dollars) per gallon. Plus we get taxed alot more heavily than in the US I think. Swings and round abouts though.

Hah! that's pretty funny. why do you think they're paying almost 2 euros per liter ($8.00/gallon), because its tax free?

we, in the US, pay less taxes than at least any european nation.

its the hurrican, of course theyre gonna jack up prices, they always take advantage of natural disasters because they know that the people down there have to pay it.

uh, they shut down the oil refineries in TX, to avoid disasterous accidents, and deaths of people who work there. that is why gas prices went up, a hiccup in the supply chain.

if our retarded government would allow our nation to have more than 8 measly oil refineries in the entire country (a number that has been the same since the '70s, with a law that was passed for environmental reasons), problems like this wouldn't happen, and the cost of a gallon of gas would lower in the US year round.

i completely agree, but i doubt its ever going to happen

I have done my fair share of complaining as well, its fine to vent a bit. The way I see it, this is something out of my control at the moment, so I am just trying to find ways to deal with it. Fortunately, I was very lucky to be able to go from a gas guzzling traffic-jammed-both ways commute to now living within walking distance from work, anyone have any ideas of what else, if anything ,we can do about it ? I am open to more ideas.

If you read the earlier post about our oil refineries you will see an answer. As far as what you can do, vote for those who support these claims, they mere threat of American drilling is what caused the drop in prices, it would only continue if we drilled more in our country.
