thanks i will have to put some crappy flake food or something in there for him lol. it is funny he was in a 55g tank that i havent looked at in 3 mounths the only thing growing in the tank was coralin and algae amazing little guys

Sorry, I'm thinking of the class Polychaete which are commonly referred to as bristleworms, which Eunicids are a part of. I wasn't talking about what reef keepers generally refer to as true bristeworms, Amphinomidae.

You are quite right, though Polychaete is a rather large class that even included the "decorative" tube worms, so I like to be a bit more precise for the sake of clarity. As you said true bristle worms are of the family Amphinomidae (from the suborder eunicida) or hesionidae (from the suborder Phyllodocida), as well as a few others that I cant think of off the top of my head... I guess I also could also have been a bit clearer... I was reffering to the family Eunicidae of the the suborder Eunicida... just to make it more confusing haha.

He was probably living off the algae growth in that tank then.

lol kevin in yousing word that i dont think many people can even pernounce. it still amazes me to find this thing in my tank in all the year i have never seen anything like this and i i have seen 8" fire worms (it wasn't a good outcome i tried pulling them out of the tank with my hands lol)thanks again all that helped this is the coolest thing i have found since i was introduced to a madusa worm 10 years ago. cool worm if you get the chance to find one thay grow huge and if the food supply is short that will shed body segments so thay dont have to consume as much food to live

So wait a second... you were cleaning out your tank and this guy was just there one day? As in, he grew to that size and you had no idea he was in there?!

That's what a read. Crazy
