What color are they? Are you running a canister filter? If you are check your tubing could be coming from there.

Here is pics. Its a fx5 filter, i just added 2 pouches of purigen the other day to one of my baskets if that makes any diffrence.

looks like plain old fish feces to me. any plecos in there? theirs tends to be stringy like that.
