do you ever clean out your filter?

it looks like bacterial strings to me. or maybe you fish are shedding there slime coats(not healthy but it looks like quite a lot for that)

Cant be, im using this thing, its like the python, its brand new, used it a few times. I did about 50 gallon water change.

I used to get similar stuff in my filter piping. It was a real pain in the arse because it would shoot out any time I stopped and started the filter.

It's gone now though.

Maybe plastic from your pipes?
