Ive seen emails after the tsunami in SE Asia that had various pictures of odd deep water fish that said they were washed up after the wave. My question is who in their right mind would belive that a fish half a mile down would get caught up by a wave on the surface?!

That is definitely one of the deep-sea sculpins, either a Psychrolutes phrictus (blob sculpin), or more likely the Australian Blobfish (Psychrolutes marcidus). both are from waters deeper than 600 meters.
