this time it was a jumper, my 4'' jardini. the only opening is a gap in the glass top and tank edge barely bigger than his body is wide. it must've been the perfect jump. everything else was eggcrate covered and weighted.

im so damn disheartened. my second aro death in 2 months.

f***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u seriously should take every precaution possible when it comes to arowanas. especially young ones.

COVER everything. even if u think ur overlooking the situation, look harder.

ya happened to me once b4 if crack need to gget covered bc they will find a way, sorry to hear about the death

Hi good to see your back... missed you! i am sorry about the jar.. every little tiny crevice must be taped..they always find the one little itty bitty opening..i do not know how but they do :(

Bummer man, sorry to hear that. You still planning on getting another?

aww dude!! that sux!! i even use empty cd cases to cover all the cracks in my tank....looks lame but works a treat!

I never lost an aro doe to jumpin but some other fishes. And they muct use magic since the hole is often smaller then the fish still they manage to get out.. Now when i got my asians did i put plastic pices over the only hole in the cover thats like 30mm in diameter. Tu be sure its doesnt move did i tejp it to the glas cover.

Young and small aros are extremely jumpy creatures. That's the reason why I always advise my customers or friends to really spare no holes avaiable for their setup.

Another way to cut down the risk is to lower the tank water to half tank till it's more stable or bigger:)
