Get him on live untill he is 5-6" then ween him to krill ect if you want him on a non-live diet....dont believe the BS that once they eat live they wont eat anything else because its a load of $hit...also you dont have to starve them..all it does is lower their immune system and if they still wont eat you will lose them..there is an easy way without risking your fishes health.I have switched up hundreds of peas of all different species with no problem at all. Also if you want him out more put in some fast moving dithers so he feel safer and has some food competition..they may also spark his interest to feed as peacocks are attracted to quick and flashy prey, this is one reason you see so many skinny pellet feeding cichla is they lack the feeding tenacity that they have normally..and why if you ever try to catch one in the wild they will only hit fast flashy and gaudy colored lures...if you reel in and slow down when a pbass is chasing he will stop and turn away.As for his shyness, peas are solitary and shy when young if they are not kept in groups so anything to make him feel safer is better as he will not automatically snap out of it...it is normal for babies, but if there is nothing for him to relate safety to in the tank he will grow up as a skittish non-aggressive hider.
The little Tem is doing well, the Big mono is doing great! And the little mono is being a pain. The little tem needs to get on krill, I am working on it. Li had it on pellets, but he won't take pellets or krill.
I would follow dmack's advice if you can't get it on pellets. I had some that were so slow growth on krill and that's all they would eat. I def. would not feed baby pbass krill as a staple. As much as I hate feeders if you can't get them on pellets you might need to fatten them up for a little on feeders and then switch them to pellets.
But nice pbass. They're everywhere now.. think a couple on mfk got li spec tems..
