so what are your chances of getting another one like him from the batch of fry? Odds?

there is about as much chance of getting a Xanthic out of them as there is getting a guppy from a pair a bull dogs:(

but if i wanted an Xanthic Jag i would have just not sold him:naughty:

Thats a lot of fry. Maybe youll get a xanthic out of them.

I would say the chances of that are just under 0%:nilly:

but I will get a pair out of them to keep/grow-on:headbang2

aww dude! he's mad u'll miss him fer sure!

hay mate, what can i say__________ he is gone now....

he will be missed but in a way that getting rid was for the best.

so i take it the xanthic trate doesn't get passed on. still sucks u don't have the only fish neo didn't have lol.

Really...the xanthic trait wouldnt get passed down to the little guys? Even if they dont show it? Couldnt they still have the trait and just need to breed with a reg jag? Any experts plz chime in.

some might be carrying the Xanthic gene, you would have to pick I that is, then god knows how many time you would have to breed offspring back to father to get any Xanthic fry, but just think how L_O_N_G it would take, years!

Right and by that time you'd have the same problem as you do with electric blue jack dempseys, inbred alot so immune system is low and some don't have high survival rates.

Sorry to hear you got rid of him, but at least he lives on. And I can understand sometimes no matter the fish you just have to get rid of it.

well thanks shane i think hes settled fairly well though, his misses is getting on fine aswell.
