I got this one 2 months ago, here is a pic from when I first got it.

The color looked kind of pale, like a pink convict. Not a bad color, but not really all that exciting. Probably 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in that pic. I think it is a she, the fins are rather rounded as you can see in the upcoming pictures. That pic was taken in a 30 gallon long. She's (I'll just go ahead and trust my judgement on her sex) since been moved to another growout tank, a 55 which she shares with two young Red TIger Motaguenses (one a little larger, the other about the same size, both female I think), and a WC Neet. I plan to put in in my 150 one day. She is a little bigger than anything in there now. Sagittaes only get to be 7-8 inches I believe, smaller than Red Devils and Midas Cichlads.

More pics are about to follow.

Poor picture quality, but there is a yawn, and the Neet. I actually captured on video a good little battle between the Neet and the Sagittae, but of course I erased it by mistake. The Sagittae mostly has the edge on the Neet, but the Neet defends itself when he gets behind the flowerpot.

nice i hope the coloration works out its exciting

I don't see what the point of the xanthics are, they just look like midas. I have 5 regular saggitaes and they have been fighting about every day for a month now and two have been guarding one side of my tank for over a week. Not sure if they bred and eggs got eaten or what. I have five 4" clown loaches with them and a 10" pleco. Not sure if they feel like deffending their eggs. Thinking about pulling the other species from the tank tomorrow to see what happens.

heres a shot of my 7" male.

He was outgrowing the pack by 1-2" but this other male just caught up out of no where. Now the slightly smaller male has been beating this dude up everyday, they both have some nice battle wounds on their noses which should heal up no problem. I like watching them fight for now anyways lol.
