Try feeding him NLS pellets thera ++++ 3mm. I brought my wild caught L-114 leapord cactus back to life with that stuff. All the garlic in there is an appetite supressant. I know what your going through my L-114 cost me $405 with shipping and he wouldn't eat for awile also. A year later he is 11 inches and will eat 25 of those pellets every other day. I alternate his food with flakes,

so the flakes sink and it eats them on the ground of the tank? i wanna try and check out that NLS.

Yes right off the gravel bed and flares at the silver dollars when they get near "his" NLS pellets. Yeah I guess I did mean stimulant. Lol
