I have heard and read that after a while on those they turn black and will stay that way in captivity? They only have that color when breeding in the wild? Any truth to this? Either way they are some amazing plecos!

In the 3 years my Xanto has changed from all grey to 90% yellow about 3 or 4 times.

I've talked to someone that have some of them. He said his changes color too. It has to do with the PH. To keep them yellow, you will have to keep at a certain PH.

Man,Those plecos are ugly... but then I thought all plecos were ugly until i fell in love with pseudos. Very unique. I wouldn't mind putting one in my tank (if i can ever find them) and probably fall in love with them too! Nice Group!
