Xbox 360 Kinect - Anyone Bought/Buying it?

i have a feeling it is. all 3 major consoles now have it, why would they go backward? Why would microsoft and sony "break through" with it and then completely abandon it for their future consoles? it's just one of those things that old schoolers will resist and then give in when they're left behind in the dust.

Because they have an add on means that is the future for gaming? Is rock band and guitar hero the future of gaming because all the systems have it? No. It's just a gimmick that Microsoft and Sony and just trying to steal from Wii. Sure their graphics are 10x better but the games are crap and look maybe fun for 10 minutes. Again I don't think you can do first person shooters properly the Wii has them but they are really hard to play and if Kinect gets a FPS I don't even know how you would even play it since it goes by your body movements. and FPS are one of the most popular genres of games. I just don't see it being "the future of gaming"

yes, guitar hero was the future. look at what it's lead to. All of those accessories have been cash cows. Anything that pushes the boundaries away from traditional hand held controller is what they're attacking right now. you don't do a 180 and ignore the hype of what's exciting people. i'm not saying controllers will be completely eliminated (even the wii has traditional controllers), but i see future consoles centered around how to exploit motion sensor.

No I am not into the whole gimmick. I heard they might have a FPS game with the Kinect but until then nope. That and the PS3 Move are just rip offs of the wii and I rarely use my wii anyways.

I wouldn't say its a rip off of the wii, you dont have to use a cheesy controller, its 100% motion control.

I have the motion package for my PS3, I love it. My buddies have the Wii and its also pretty cool. I enjoy playing the games that use only the eye and also the games that use the motion controller like Time Crisis 4, Hunting games and fishing games. It's really added some new excitement to the system as a whole. Personally I enjoy the new technology as it comes. The 360's new thing looks cool too but will they eventually have some type of controller for it?

It's not a complete rip off they just one up'd the Wii and the concept is practically the same.
