Everyone on here keeps saying "Assassins Creed", but yet no one elaborates on which one! Assassins Creed (the original) sucks big time. I have Assassins Creed Revelations (the newest) and it's really good. I would recommend it.
I recently bought OverLord 2. It's a cute, very easy game to play.
I also own all the lego games- I LOVE them!

I just started playing Assassin's Creed about a week ago, and I'm playing through the entire series in chronological order (which imo is the best way to go). I beat the first game in just a few days, and it was great at the time. Of course compared to the later games it sucks, but as its own game, it's not bad; plus the experience is a lot better when you know the whole storyline.
Since no one here has mentioned it, i'm going to throw Dark Souls into the mix if your into RPG's
Although with Dark Souls be warned that it is an extremely hard and frustrating game which will probably lead to you pulling out a lot of your hair, but if your looking for a really challenging RPG i would say Dark Souls... otherwise, Skyrim is another very good choice...
Other games: Lego series has some fun games which don't take much thinking and can be quite entertaining... i know my g/f loves them and has bought pretty much all of them for me so she can play...

Almost all the games have a online mode. It adds a new level of fun to the mix. Thing I like is there is always somebody online to play in a game, I don't have to wait for my friends. I recommend you make a xbox account and rent the games mentioned and try it out. Worst case you don't like it and don't renew the account.
