Xbox One, thoughts?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
XboxOne is not released in Somalia and also not in Sudan. Since evryone else has Internet i don't see the problem.

You'd be surprised. I live in a suburb of Seattle, and there are lots of places in this area that do not have any type of broadband service. We had to sell modem pci cards when they bought a new tower so they could connect via dial up still. I doubt the Xbox One will work over dial up.

Haha very true. But maybe the kid down the road doesn't have Internet idk. There are people that don't have Internet in the United States. Whether they don't want to pay for it, or they have some crazy anti Internet parents. Maybe they live with their 70 year old grandparents that don't have the Internet and the grandparent decided to buy them a new Xbox for Christmas. Well. You better get Internet too.

Obviously this doesn't apply to 97% probably. What if your cable/satellite went out and a technician can't get there til Monday. Weekend without your xbox.

Good point. Our cable recently went out, and even newer PC games require a connection now a days even if you want to play in single player mode. Highly annoying when we lost cable for 6 hours.

Took 1 second to google the amount of americans that have internet access at home, first thing that popped up said 20% do not. With that said, another 10% of that is not a broadband connection and thus cannot be used for gaming.

So, guessing that Xbox just cut off 30% of their customers right there, at least.

If requiring internet is a continuing trend, it is one I wont be a part of.

With that said, I have internet and do not plan on buying either system.

And for the record. I haven't owned a playstation since the original one. I've had the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 now. I've enjoyed both. But I preordered a ps4 yesterday.

Ill probably end up with both in the long run. BUT.. I'm spending my money on Sony first.

Its a shame, im a hardcore microsoft-er, PC-wise atleast. They are really going to destroy consoles with what they are doing though.

Constant internet connections are a horrible thing and burden to anyone planning to use the system.

Options are good, people able to use the internet to play with friends is good, but forcing people to use yuor product the way you see fit is bad.
