Due to the long beak possessed by these fish, it is imperative to try and prevent these fish from ramming into the walls of the tank and breaking it. Not recommended with fish such as puffers, as they are very thin, and could easily be broken in half. These fish are livebearers. Unlike many halfbeaks, these fish do not enter brackish.
