Ceja Stingray
Paratrygon aiereba

Size: 4’Lx3’W [Possibly larger-- Though this is rare in captivity]
pH: 6.5-7.5
Tank size: 1500G/Individual
Country of origin: Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela
Diet: Live and frozen foods
Temperament: Generally calm. Very predatory and will eat any fish small enough. Known to be rather personable, and quite intelligent by fish standards
Temperature: 75-85° F

Description

Paratrygon aiereba is a rare and little-known South American stingray. These fish are larger than most Pomatotrygon species, and have been known to reach over 5’ in width in the wild. This is nothing short of a true monster fish. Unfortunately, few (if any) high-quality photos are available for this species, which is part of the reason it took so long to be covered.

Are they really lazy compared to other freshwater rays ?

Due to the high prices this fish is usually sold at, be especially careful with them.

Simorum Betta
Betta simorum

Size: 4”
pH: 5.0-6.5
Tank size: 20G/Individual
Country of origin: Indonesia
Diet: Live and frozen foods. It is imperative that you provide some sort of hard food
Temperament: Aggressive, though could possibly be kept in a community tank under the right circumstances
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Betta simorum is a very obscure and relatively small Betta species carried by very few breeders and vendors. They are known from only Malaysia, and are very similar in many ways to the closely-related Betta bellica. Clear sexual dimorphism, as shown above. (Left: male, right: female) Part of the bellica complex.
Alright, a couple errors in this one!

1. It says "live and frozen foods. It is imperative that you provide some sort of hard food" under diet. This was copied from the previous entry and I forgot to change it.

2. It says this is a "relatively small" Betta species. I meant to say relatively large.

3. I also claimed that this species is only known from Malaysia. This is untrue. I may have copied this and forgotten to change it.

My bad.
