Xingu Pricing

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just wait and the price will go down eventually.

sure you can wait for the price of a Tesla to go down, but by then it won't be as rare, it will be more common. Rare fish command a rare price, and part of the reason is the pride in exclusive ownership. The same reason why rich people will pay 50,000 a year to be part of a country club.

over and over, people have to realize that with fish, the value changes constantly with supply and demand. zebra plecos were once a 20 dollar fish, and now they're about 200 plus each.

I use to sell wide bar datnoids for $40.00 each, and now I couldn't get a true wide bar for less than $400.00

and with kois, I don't know what the pricing is, but its not even a wild fish or from a remote location. and they can price up into the tens of thousands easily, maybe Ken can shed some light or pictures and show us what an expensive koi looks like and is worth

When it comes to pricing hoplias aimara seem to be ridiculosly high and they are not comming down. Those guys are $1,000.00 for a 7 inch fish.

I guess they are extremly rare and hard to get.

Good Imformation...But its sold out aldy, will wait for next shipment!

It's tough when you want a rare fish to be affordable. If you want one you just got to figure out a way.
When I was dealing in koi, people would buy up $200-$300 kois like no tomorrow. Most of the people don't even earn a lot. They enjoy raising koi and watching it develop. 99 percent of them turn out to be common junk but they come back every year to try another. Now the closes I got to an expensive koi is a 14" kohaku (red/white) breed by Dainichi-san. It was hand picked by the man himself when he was still alive. Color, conformation, pattern was okay but not perfect. I sold her for $10,000 in two weeks. Keep in mind these are common koi with a small percent with uniqueness. Putting it into perpective I feel prices for rare fish are fair.
