i got this big 2 foot silver from my buddy about two weeks ago. he is in the same size tank he was in b4 (450gal). he hasnt eatin 1 thing since i got him. he dosnt even look at food. he acts like nothing is wrong. has anyone else had a prob like this?

Last may I adopted a 21" silver took about 3 weeks to get him eating regularly and had the same problem with my black aro. My other silver will eat within hours of being transfered though.

I wouldn't worry too much, try going a few days without even offering food. This works with my black aro during her little strikes.

Aros take awhile to re-adjust, give her some time....

just make sure water parameters are ok :) shouldn't be a problem. larger aros sometimes take longer to adjust to new tank :)

If the fish appear to be swimming as normal and no sign of illness then it's fine. Just dun do any changes to it's new enviroment for if you keep adjusting the the parameter in there the longer it need to settle itself in there.

try different food. for my australian that i recently got it tried from raw shrimp to pellets to live fish to dried shrimp. The dried shirmp got him to eat but he didnt even take the guppies

I've had an arowana not eat for a month after moving.

well its been about a month now and he still isnt eating.

just the other day he started spazzing out jumping and banging his head into the glass. i was scared he was gonna bust the glass.

he has settled down now but still not eating..

i guess i can only be patient
