How do you clean the output and input tubes, with out having to buy new ones each time they get full of stuff.

There is no need to clean them. I have an 2 xp2 and an xp3, all of the hoses have buildup. No harm to your fish, more of a cosmetic thing if you choose to clean them. The only thing that is annoying is when you clean the filter and turn it back on some of that buildup gets shot into the tank. Again, not a big deal.
I have that same problem up the buildup after i clean the filter, thats why i asked but if it does not harm the fish i wont worry about it. thanks for the info.
