XP3 Canister Filter

Does this look like a good filter for an 80 gallon cichla tank?

I run one on my75G planted tank. I love these filters.

Alright, I am ready to order one one of these days. How clean does this filter keep your tank? My tank is 80 gallons and has 11 cichla and 1 pleco. All fish are around 6 inches.

I would get that and powerful HOB or a small bio canister ( biological only ) or a 10g bio sump. just to break down all the waste. i think an extra smaller canister or hob should help contro lthe mess

Rena sucks.they clog every other week and need to be cleaned constantly.go with fluval.I got an xp4 and its sucked since day one.I just had it fill up my living room with a 1/2 inch of water after I cleaned it last time.If I wasn't strapped for cash I would put it in my driveway and let it filter the bottom of my trucks tires before I left for work in the morning

I ran it on a 55 with 20+ 4-5" mbuna and it did a great job. I cleaned it out about every month or two.

My 75 stays pretty clean. It would be better, but all the plants break up the flow. But my tank is still pretty clean. I don't have to vacuum that much when I do water changes.

I have never had any of my Renas clog.

I've basically heard the same about Rena in my ventures trying to determine what canister to purchase.
