Well assuming there is no large crack in the head somewhere the o rings are likely case. I pull mine off every once and a while and lube them with vegitable oil. Check to see if damaged or if they have an irregular shape. When you insert the quick disconnect assembly push down on it while working the lever, this will help seat it.

BTW the suggestion of a rubbermaid container is always a good idea. One other question you don't have your canister place some abnormal distance below your tank do you? The recommended maximum distance below water line is 55" more could cause leaking because of to much water pressure. I have experienced this problem, though not with a XP3 but an Eheim 2026

i'll check for cracks and other irregularities when i get home... hopefully the little guy will be ok w/o filtration, i should off plugged in the airstone!

the filter is about 34" below the water line... nothing abnormal w/ placement.

take the lid off and turn it pside down water should pour our of the gaps y where th tunes claamp in water goes in te the leaks out the sides and where the wire is if you won't a look take the 4 screws off and take a look in the top nothin to harm in there

just found out it was the in/out o rin tat snapped...

were can i quickly buy one of these to replace? home depot?

Sorry that I do not have an answer for. I've been meaning to order some myself, guess I better get on it. Good luck with your search.
