If you had to choose between (1) XP3 or (2) AC 110's, which would you go for?

The XP3 is going to be about $20 more than the AC's. I just can't decide if there are any benefits from either. I already have one XP3 hooked up to this tank. It's a 180 by the way. I will eventually be getting a wet dry, this is just to keep till I going till I can get one made.

it depends on how long it will take to get the sump and what is in the tank. if it is lightly stocked get the cheaper option.

i would use the ac110s at least you can run one or both with your wet/dry to break water tension also its good to have back up on your tank running in case your wet/dry pump packs up.

JD I can get you a wet/dry for almost the same price as the XP3....... or I've got another XP3 you can use untill you get the wet/dry...... I like to use an OTB filter on all my tanks no matter what other filters I'm using.

Rallysman has my cell number..... did you get the new tank?

I would think the 2 Aq's would move alot more water than a single xp3. If you watch the intake or stick your hand by it, it seems the xp3 doesnt draw alot of water, whereas you can see particles being sucked into the AQ and can feel the suction. BTW I have both running on a 100g.

Yeah, finally got the 180 up in running in case rally needed it after his other tank was coming apart. I have been busy the last two weeks getting this taken care of, getting the stand built and all.

I think that I will go with some AC's for now. I am going to take my time now that I know rally isn't going to have to transfer any of his fish. Plus, I will be going to Vegas in a couple of weeks. Once I get back for Vegas, I will be calling you about the wet/dry.

Thanks for the offer Repair!

Try to find a nice female jag in vegas!!

I run 4 AC70's and 2 XP2's on my 125g. They all do well, even though I'm considering drilling and a 1000gph sump.

I think after reading repairs post...I am going to go with the AC's so that when I do get my sump set up I can keep them running as a back up. I don't know if I could do the same with an xp3...as far as surface agitation goes.
