Dont feel unfortunate about this nice looking fish, your liking him is what matters. I have a 3/4 dat too, but smaller at 11", and a symmetrical 3.5/3.5 at 13". I haven't seen their once-upon-a-time gold base like yours for a looong time, but I love them very much, raising them from 3-4"...when my kids come put their face to the tanks, they come touching the glass on the other side, every time!
