XXL Red Wolf Fish

It is interesting that yours have a yellowish coloration. Mine are more pinkish orange. I wonder if they are from different areas of Peru. Or maybe it's just the lighting?

The Erythrinus erythrinus sp. peru seems to be a little more rare. I believe mine came in with a Brazil order, but that was about a year ago so I could be mistaken.
I don't think it's the lighting, he looked the same in my 55g grow-out tank. But the colors have intensified with age (I've had him since 2").
Although they do lie around a lot, usually when I approach he comes to the front looking for food and sometimes he cruises around chasing tank mates.

I added some plant clippings from another tank.

Thanks for the compliments, and BUMP to see some more large reds.

I'd post pics of my guys, but they're only around 5" at most at this point. I think mine are Ery Ery Peru as well. No horizontal bar at all in their coloration. Just a dark brown/purplish top, cream underbelly with red highlights on the fins and coming out in the belly. I think that they're gorgeous, and have been a blast to keep so far. Started them eating rosies (feeder fish), they're now working on small goldfish.

That is an unbelievably beautiful fish! That is probably the most gorgeous wolf I've ever seen! :D
