Xystichromis Kyoga Flamebacks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I found out a little more info on the Kyogas. Kyogas tend to display the horizontal bar when they are in a less dominant state. When they are dominant and all fired up the bar is pretty much non existant and stays that way unless it isn't a dominant male.

Weird I read just the opposite from GAS here is he talking the differences between sp. "Kyoga Flameback" and sp."flameback".

Anatomically, the Kyoga flameback is larger and has bigger eyes. In a fright pattern, the flameback has more pronounced vertical barring than the Kyoga species. The Kyoga male will show a mid lateral bar while in a dominant coloration, the flameback really doesn't.

not doubting you but to add to my own database do you have a source link or book title?
