No colors as of now, to be honest I am quite disappointed with their colors. I might move them to the 60 gallon where the nyererei are at and move the nyerereis to the 40. I'm going to see if that will help them since there is more area and territory. The 40 gallon is exposed in the living room where alot of people are at and they get scared easily. The nyerereis aren't scared and display better, so I think I might just do that.

ya that sucks, hope it all works out for ya man :)

Thanks, I'll try to switch the tanks around this week. I really want to see my kyoga flamebacks fire up.

That's because he sent me two males. :) And why would Jim say that you are getting the colony pictured when he sent me them? Doesn't make sense at all. You're obviously getting another colony, not the one pictured. Jim shouldn't be advertising his sales with false info.
You are bidding on a Breeding Colony of the pictured **** RARE **** Kyoga Flamebacks

It states of the pictured not that they are the ones in the picture.

OK, Mike, you asked for the line of my Kyoga Flamebacks, I got mine from a breeder at the Cichlid auction, but I know that they originally came from Dave's Rare Fish in San Antonio.
What was the seller id on the bag? If it was ACN then it actually goes one step better than Dave and they came from GAS or Greg Steeves http://www.cichlidae.com/author.php?id=101 who is one of the top Lake Victoria experts out there. http://www.africancichlids.net is Greg's site.

Were you the one that thanked JB for not bidding on those? I was the tall hippie hanging out in the back. I got Greg's group of Igombie Island Nyereri and Mbipia cf. lutea. I also got a group of 6 xys sp "Flameback" juvies that are decendents from Greg's fish and a group of 3 Juvie Pyxichromis orthostoma from Dave.

LOL. He told me straight up that he sent me the same exact fish pictured and he even sent me 3 pictures of that same group. I emailed him back and asked why were the fish I was supposed to get still up there and he never answered. :grinno:

Yes, that was me, and I got them from Greg...didn't know that was better than Dave's...I intentionally introduced myself to him, after being told that I should talk to him. He was really nice (everyone was), and I really had a great time.

The fish are eating well today, and one of them has a little more color, but I expect it will be a few days before they're settled in...they don't seem shy, as a matter of fact, they were begging this morning.
